(AdeebMedia.com) – It is with great pleasure that we invite you as our Special Guest Speaker to The Commongrounds Conference – “Islam In America” – taking place on the 24th of March 2012 (Saturday, 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM) at Hilton Springfield, 6550 Loisdale Road, Springfield, VA 22150 USA. This event is the 4th segment of a series of conferences convened by the Commongrounds USA and was last held at Chicago, IL. During this historic Conference our religious scholars and leaders will explore the theme Islam In America: “Redefining the Fundamental Nature of Islam in America.”

American-Muslims, in their own voices, are telling their fellow citizens that there is a distinctly American Islam emerging – particularly from their generation – that is tolerant, creative, inquisitive, green, interfaith-oriented, concerned about keeping our country safe from violent extremists and supportive of women.

Indeed, what we need to know about Islam from these people is that mutual trust and cooperation among Americans of all faiths is our greatest security in the world today.

We understand all real religions are committed to working for justice and peace, and have long-standing and well-established structures or processes for doing so. They may also have religion-specific approaches to conflict resolution, such as guidelines for resolving conflict or rituals for reconciling relationships that have potential application across religious boundaries.

Interfaith Dialogue between conflicted groups can mobilize these and other religious elements in the service of increasing mutual tolerance – a process that begins with the ability to interact without fear or aggression, and progresses through empathy and understanding, to mutual respect. Promoting a true dialogue among religions is the most important instrument that we can use to build bridges of peace and hope.
