In his press release, which he e-mailed to the news-media on 4 January 2012, Mansoor Ijaz wrote: “Announcement of Legal Representation. Zurich [Switzerland] – I have today retained the services of one of Pakistan’s most highly respected lawyers, senior Advocate of the Supreme Court Mr. Mohammad Akram Sheikh, to handle technical aspects and matters specific to Pakistan’s Constitution, the Supreme Court’s orders, local laws and regulations, and media issues as they arise in preparation for my personal appearance in front of the Supreme Court’s Commission constituted to look into the Memorandum matter.”
“Mr. Sheikh is a distinguished jurist who has served in the most important positions of Pakistan’s legal and judiciary system. His role as counsel in any number of important landmark constitutional cases reflects his judicial experience and respect for the rights of individuals in a free society. Indeed, Mansoor Ijaz has made the right decision by retaining the legal services of senior Advocate Mohammad Akram Sheikh in the Zardari-Haqqani treasonous memo case.
Barrister-at-Law Mohammad Akram Sheikh is a legendary Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP). He has 39 years (1973-2012) of professional experience as a noted human rights, constitutional and defense lawyer. He is a former Chairman & Chief Executive of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), ex-President of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan (SCBAP), ex-Chairman of Punjab Bar Council (PBC), ex-President of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and ex-General Secretary of District Bar Association (DBA – Sahiwal). He was a Member of Law Asia (LA), Commonwealth Lawyers Association (CLA), Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) and American Bar Association (ABA). He has served as Pakistan’s Ambassador-at-Large with the rank/status of a federal Minister and represented Pakistan in the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC). A book should be written about admirable credentials, honorable mission, human rights justice advocacy, court cases and noble services of Advocate M. Akram Sheikh.
America’s National Press Club (NPC) introduction of Barrister Mohammad Akram Sheikh’s speech, which he delivered at the NPC on 14 November 2007, states:
“Akram Sheikh, as a representative of Pakistan’s Chief Justice [Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry], talked about the political crisis in his country. He opposed [military dictator] General [Pervez] Musharraf’s continuation as [illegal] president of the country as Chief of the Army Staff. He also criticized the U.S. for dealing with General Musharraf and his [corrupt, tyrannical] government. Topics included Musharraf’s original revolt against an elected government, the recent suspension of the [Pakistan] Constitution and the declaration of [military] Martial Law. After his presentation, he responded to audience and [NPC] members’ questions.”
Attorney-at-Law M. Akram Sheikh has rightly exposed concocted lies, misleading disinformation and malicious propaganda of pro-PPP Devil’s Advocate Asma Jahangir and PPPP traitorous ex-envoy to the USA Husain Haqqani against Pakistani generals and judges in his article, headlined “Memogate: stop insulting our honourable judges”, which was published in The News International, a daily newspaper of Pakistan, on 5 January 2012.

Mr. Mansoor Ijaz made a good decision by hiring Pakistani human rights Advocate Mr. Mohammad Akram Sheikh. I hope he will also appear before Pakistan Supreme Court’s judicial Commission, so that some ‘Pakistani’ criminal traitors could be brought to justice.
